1.5L K15B petrol engine
The K15B petrol engine delivers excellent fuel efficiency, as well as high power and torque within small dimensions that make room for a spacious interior. It suppresses noise and vibration for a quiet ride, and the highly efficient radiator contributes to high output.
Light and rigid "HEARTECT" platform
The smoothly curving frame increases underbody stiffness that delivers excellent fundamental vehicle performance while also enhancing collision safety by efficiently dispersing energy.

SAFETY
High-Level Safety Functions
Along with SRS airbags to protect occupants in the event of a frontal collision, the XL7 is loaded with functions that keep the driver informed and the vehicle safe and secure at all times.
Reverse parking sensors
Ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper detect obstacles while the driver is reversing the car. Warning sounds help keep the driver informed of the distance to the obstacle.
SRS airbag system
The XL7 comes standard with front SRS airbags for the safety of the driver and front-seat passenger in case of a frontal collision.
ESP®*
If Electronic Stability Programme (ESP®) detects wheel slippage when the driver turns the steering wheel sharply and/or the road is slippery, for example, it automatically adjusts the engine torque and brakes to suppress the wheel slippage and help the driver stay in directional control.

ABS with EBD
In an emergency braking situation, the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) keeps tyres from locking up and supports the driver to maintain steering ability. In addition, Electric Brake force Distribution (EBD) shortens the braking distance by optimally distributing force to the front and rear wheels if there is a large load, such as when the car is full of passengers.
Pedestrian injury mitigating
The structures of the XL7’s bonnet, front windscreen wiper area, front bumper and other parts absorb impact with the aim of mitigating head and leg injuries in the event of a collision with a pedestrian.
Immobiliser
With this system, the engine cannot be started if the key and car ID do not match. It is useful in preventing thefts carried out using duplicate keys.
Security alarm
After the doors are locked by keyless entry, an alarm will sound if an attempt is made to open a door by another method. This provides reassurance at night and in deserted parking lots.
TECT (Total Effective Control Technology)
The XL7’s body design centres on Suzuki’s TECT concept, resulting in a structure that efficiently absorbs and disperses energy in the event of a collision. The load paths beneath the engine compartment further mitigate collision damage in the event of a high-speed collision.

The smoothly curving frame is largely constructed of ultra-high-tensile steel. This results in a rigid yet light body despite the XL7’s long and wide dimensions.
